The interior is finished in oak with marble on the main stairways and the exterior is constructed of oolitic limestone. The building cost over $130,000 to build and nearly half of that was donated by the Jesse Knight Family. WebMaeser’s contribution to public education was substantial. Maeser also recognized that public schools, as nonsectarian, would be prohibited from building on the same spiritual foundation as the Academies.
